The Motokiks Clan

A very quick post with photos from this afternoon of Barbara Hunter’s unraced homebred broodmare Motokiks (Storm Cat -- Matoki, by Hail to Reason) and her best daughters -- the newly retired Graded stakes winners Keertana and Snow Top Mountain (who earned black type while racing in foal this year), and another daughter, the winning mare Whitefish.

Bonus: a couple of cute foal pictures!

Motokiks, dam of major stakes winners Keertana and Snow Top Mountain, at owner/breeder Barbara Hunter's Brownwood Farm, framed by her granddaughter, a Hard Spun foal.
Keertana (Johar - Motokiks), the winner of five Grade 3 races and $1,031,938. In foal to Arch.
Snow Top Mountain (Najran - Motokiks), the winner of two Grade 3 races and $525,303. She was second by a neck in the Modesty H.-G3 on July 14 -- while in foal to Blame.

Whitefish (Diesis - Motokiks) with her 2012 Hard Spun filly. A Successful Appeal filly out of Goat Cheese is in the background.

Motokiks and her 2012 Elusive Quality filly. The 17-year-old mare is in foal to Kitten's Joy for 2013 and has a yearling filly, by Curlin, who will be consigned to the Keeneland September sale by Four Star Sales.

  1. Wow! This is a great series of photos and most revealing too. Motokiks truly stamps her foals, and those chips off the mama-block can certainly run.

    Veeeerrry interesting!

    Thx, Frank.
